Peter Cowup joined London Fire Brigade (LFB) in 1982 and has recently retired as an Assistant Commissioner.
During his LFB career, Peter served in many different roles and attended and undertaken command roles at a wide range of significant incidents, including Kings Cross station during the 7/7 London Bombings and at the more recent cable tunnel fire on Kingsway in Holborn, where he was the Strategic fire commander. Peter also acted as LFB’s principal media spokesperson at the Vauxhall helicopter crash in 2013.
Peter was the Exercise Director and Project Executive for Exercise Unified Response and he had overall responsibility for the effective planning, conduct and evaluation of the exercise and associated events.
